Heal Chronic Conditions
with FSM Therapy

As a functional medicine provider, Dr. Shannon Bybee of Tucson Valley Functional Medicine often recommends frequency-specific microcurrent (FSM) therapy along with other interventions like peptide therapy and hormone rebalancing. Following a thorough evaluation of your health history and current issues, Dr. Bybee will determine if FSM therapy is appropriate and beneficial for you.

Understanding Frequency- Specific Microcurrent Therapy

FSM therapy is a clinically proven treatment modality that has been used by functional medicine providers for decades. Our bodies produce and respond to energy at a variety of frequencies. In fact each tissue type has a unique resonant frequency. At the right amplitude and frequency you can uniquely stimulate that tissue and promote healing at an accelerated level.

When injury or disease affects a particular tissue, its vibrational frequency becomes dysfunctional. FSM therapy delivers two channels of microcurrent energy that match the type of tissue and the dysfunction to promote healing and to correct the problem.

One of the reasons why frequency-specific microcurrent therapy is so effective is that it stimulates the production of ATP in the injured or diseased tissues. (ATP is the molecule of energy and is absolutely necessary for all types of cellular reactions.) FSM can increase the production of ATP, by as much as 500%, which helps promote healing and ease symptoms. Integrating FSM with Dr. Bybee’s integrative functional medicine approach helps improve the body’s steady state and “hold on” to the FSM treatment for increasingly longer periods of time.

You May Benefit From FSM Therapy If…

Along with peptide therapy, FSM therapy is one of Dr. Bybee’s most commonly recommended treatment modalities not only because it’s highly effective and quite safe, but also because it works well on a diverse range of health issues. FSM therapy can reduce inflammation and pain, and promote tissue healing. However, it can also prove effective for mental health conditions, as the body is closely intertwined with the mind.

Some of the conditions that can benefit from FSM therapy include:

Prepare for Your FSM Therapy

In the hour prior to your FSM therapy appointment, Dr. Bybee asks that you consume one quart of water for optimal results. Consider adding electrolytes to your water. If you’re prone to dehydration, it can be beneficial to consume more than one quart, but do not consume more than 1.5 quarts (48 oz.) of water per hour, as this may cause water intoxication.

What to Expect From Frequency-Specific Microcurrent Therapy

FSM therapy isn’t painful or uncomfortable at all. You’ll sit or lie down comfortably while Dr. Bybee adjusts the equipment and initiates your treatment. She will attach clips to a damp towel, which is placed over the affected area. The clips deliver the energy to the treatment area.

You’re likely to feel relief rapidly following FSM therapy. For optimal results, Dr. Bybee may recommend four to six treatment sessions or more depending on the complexity or chronicity of your condition.
